My placement with Families and Communities has been extremely varied and I think that is what has made it so interesting and enjoyable. So far I have helped to create an evaluation framework for a school's tour of a play, been involved in Crucial Crew, an event that promotes community safety and given the chance to attend a range of meetings

The West Suffolk Families and Communities team places an emphasis on supporting communities to tackle local issues themselves and preventing crises. To support councillors in their local community leadership role, staff are allocated wards across West Suffolk. While councillors are at the heart of the strategy, the team works with them directly to identify community assets, understanding community needs, encouraging community self-sufficiency and celebrating achievements.
